The “missing person” on this hoodie isn’t a stunt.

It’s a metaphor.

For four years, I existed online as a polished, brand-safe, digestible version of myself. Clean. Marketable. Palatable. And while it looked good, it never fully felt like me.

This piece represents the disappearance of that version.

Yes, I was legitimately missing for a period of time, but this isn’t shock value. It’s reclamation. It’s using dark humour and camp as a way to process, transform, and evolve.

Queer culture has always turned pain into performance. Exaggeration, satire, and transformation have long been tools of survival. Especially within communities led by queer Black men, trans women, and drag performers who shaped makeup and self-expression into art, rebellion, and identity.

This hoodie marks a shift.

Less curated. More honest.

Less palatable. More personality.

The old image is missing.

Intentionally.
